Olevia LT23HVX convergence off after replaceing capacitors
I have an Olevia LT23HVX. My friend replaced 3 capacitors and the power supply, now the convergence is off. He says in his opinion, it's from the surge of powering it up with the usb. We never had a problem while we were doing this until he brought the set back. What do I do now?

I have to ask you a question. How many experts do you need to ask about this problem? five? ten? Everyone who is an expert here knows about you and just rejecting help will not solve your problem.
If you used the USB "jump start" all you did was sub the voltage the power board should supply with voltage from another source. I would suggest you repair the internal power supply or try another external source for it--I also strongly suggest if you do not agree with me---give me the courtesy of a dialog---let us talk.
Endless rejecting of experts here trying to help you gains you nothing--actual talk may resolve your problem--fyi there are at least five and not three caps on the power board that need to be replaced.
The company that made this is out of business and in chapter eleven; I am your best chance to resolve this.
To be polite I ask do you want to solve it or just endlessly reject possible help?

Let me relate a similar situation I had; I actually repair sets--over 30 years experience with all kinds of the TV sets and electronics.
This issue with the caps is that everything uses a STANDBY power supply---it means that power supply in the set runs 7/24 even if the set is not on. To save money they use the lowest voltage rated caps they can---the caps usually last a year or two and puff up and go.
I have seen this in LCD, Plasma, and even desktop computer towers. I always replace ALL the caps and replace them with higher voltage rated ones than were installed to begin with. I am using a computer now that had this problem---5 caps were puffed on top and when I replaced them the unit worked but not correctly---I opened and replaced the remaining two and perfection.........
I would suggest first you get someone who knows what they are doing examine that board--change ALL filter caps to see if it is or is not your problem. The second thing is I am aware of what you did and some people do this by either USB from a computer or buying an external USB supply.
If it did not have this problem before it most likely is either there are still bad caps in the set's supply or whatever unit you are using to Jumpstart is somehow causing the problem.
Good luck and if you have further questions feel free to ask me right here.
