Olympus FE Model
Dear Sirs,
I own this product for about 1 year now. Olympus I know is one of the best brands that offer excellent quality of digital cameras, however it seems like most of the them that use re-chargeable batteries get drained very quickly, like in about a few shots. The reason i say this is because, i have 2 other friends (1 who has the same model as i have and the other the next version of mine) and they too complain of the same problem.
Having said that, i used this when i went for a trip recently and i guess i dropped it once (this was like the 2nd time since i bought the product) and since then I have not been able to use it. The first time, the battery insert flag broke and a chip fell off it, but now whenever i try taking a picture, the camera and the display looks PERFECT until the time I click the picture. After the picture is taken, it looks like a "Dark/Negative like" image - Like in negatives that need to be developed (Old cameras which used negatives). I understand that this is a software problem, so i want to know what is the best course of action?
1) Should i get it repaired? If yes, where would it be most economical in Chennai, India? Also the price range
2) Should i get this repaired and exchange this for another Lithium digital camera (as I am contemplating to get one, which uses Lithium-Coz I am a little dubious about using cameras with re-chargeable batteries)? If yes, which one should I buy with the best price range?
Apologies for asking too many questions. And I hope that i get the right advise from you experienced people on time.
I would appreciate if you can reply ASAP, as I would be traveling abroad next month and would need to make a decision about this.
Thanks & Regards,
Laxmi
P.S: I am at work; so do not know the exact model number, so mail me if you need me to give you specific model details

Here's the best solution you will ever get. Honestly.
- Find a suitable dealer
- The dealer should preferably be an Olympus dealer
- Go to the dealer and enquire about where you can get it repaired
- Go to the place which repairs cameras, and find a trash can
- Trash your camera there
- Find a new camera
- Be careful and do not drop cameras
- You are a winner!
My previous comment was for a laugh - The problem is that the image sensor is damaged - and it may not be worth getting it repaired if it is a basic compact camera, you should probably just get a new one. Cameras which can take AA batteries are sometimes more preferable because you can get them anywhere.
Good luck.

To get it repaired, get it to olympus authorised service center... I think shetela cameras, chennai (Spencer plaza) r olympus authorised one. so check out.
It should be very simple problem or it must make you spend much. I wont recommend you to repair if service cost goes beyond 3000INR.
For getting new cameras I could not advice without knowing ur budget. I wl prefer Canon cameras to any other. If your Budget goes above 10K get the canon iXus series is fine.
