Olympus WS-110 voice handheld voice recorder. I accidentally removed all files from the recorder from my (mac) PC. Now it is stuck on 'Connect to PC' I do this and it gives the icon that it is downloading, but it doesn't. When I open the icon for the WS-110 there are a couple of files but no folders. I need this recorder desperately!!!
Im not sure I understood how did you removed all files ...but assuming that this one you connected directly ...without itunes..you probably just jammed it ...So disconnect it ...and restart it ...If it does the same ..look for the reset button hidden in a tiny hole ...and press it with a sharp object until it restarts.. This should make it functional again ..but I can not warranty for the files..(lets hope they were saved in the PC).. In the last case...if the recorder still don't wanna work ...just download the firmware from the manufacturer's site ..and run them again to reinstall )(I mean the firmware ..not the driver..)
but , first try to look if it has a reset button hidden ...most of them have it ...and this will ....basically ..remove the strange command from it ..but , first try to look if it has a reset button hidden ...most of them have it ...and this will ....basically ..remove the strange command from it ..
You may not have a choice but to format the recorder. All the files will be erased from the recorder. Be certain to leave the batteries in place during this process.
Hold the Menu button for 1 second or longer while the recorder is stopped. Press the right arrow until you get to the Sub Menu. Again, hold the Sub Menu for 1 second or longer. Press the arrow and choose Format and select OK. After the "Data All Cleared" message, "Sure ? Start" will turn on. Press the OK button. Formatting begins and "Format Done" will display when complete.

Hello.
From Olympus documentation:
You may not have a choice but to format the recorder. All the files will be erased from the recorder. Be certain to leave the batteries in place during this process.
Hold the Menu button for 1 second or longer while the recorder is stopped. Press the right arrow until you get to the Sub Menu. Again, hold the Sub Menu for 1 second or longer. Press the arrow and choose Format and select OK. After the "Data All Cleared" message, "Sure ? Start" will turn on. Press the OK button. Reconnect to your PC.
Hope this resolves your problem.
