Make sure: *bike and tools are at room temperature when you measure *bike is at top dead center compression TDCC *oil pump is still working *Place a screwdriver or thesiscope up to different parts of the engine and place your ear on the handle to verify the loudest part of the engine noise is the head, it could be chain tensioner issue.
Possibilities: valve was bent lack of lubrication valve guides worn beyond wear (if air filter was removed or not cared for properly it could shorten the life of the valves and/or valve guides)
