on so much that the blue on light went out. It will not boot up. Someone said to see if it has a reset on the motherboard. The board has KTBC5IGLF in big letters on it. Any suggestions?
Bad idea changing pci cards when the board is live, if youre lucky and it works, look for a 3 pin terminal with a jumper on it labeled JBAT1 CLRCMOS or CLRCLK or similair, put jumper across the pin unused and then back again normally pins 2-3 then back to 1-2
You can bet that the motherboard is dead now. You should never plug or unplug any interior component while the PC is running and/ or plugged into any power source for that matter. First shut down the computer, unplug it from the wall, wait a minute for any electrical serge to dissipate. Then it's okay to fiddle with the interior components. Note: Most interior components are sensitive to static electricity, so use caution and avoid handling and/ or touching sensitive areas of components, i.e. PC Boards and conductive areas. Also, as precaution you should invest in a anti-static wrist band.
