The screw closest to the cylinder is the Lo side and the screw closest to the air filter is the Hi side. From the factory they were set at approx 1 1/4 turn out. They plastic locks on the screws are just pressed on and should be easily removed. The Lo side effects idle and engine rev up. The Hi side only effects engine at wide open throttle. If you have to open up more than 2.5 turns each, then you have a blockage in the carb and it will need to be rebuilt or replaced. Good luck.
