When mine does that it is usually because the container is full. I remove the shredder and dump the container. Then place the shredder back on the container and run the machine backwards manually to dump out the excess stuck in the cutter wheels and then it is fine.

Hi,I suspect you may have shredded some papers with glue on them. There are many that have that really snot looking glue used to hold cards to the paper. This gets stuck between the blades. There are several brands of cleaning papers designed to help clean the blades and reduce this problem. They are available at any office products stores and many big-box stores. Take care
The reason it turns off is the motor and the shredder it drives are overheating, this means the shredder wheels are damaged and putting a huge load on the electric motor that drives the wheels that shreds the paper, the most cost effective thing to do here is to just replace the shredder.
This happens when you first turn it on & it isn't very old so I don't think it's overheating or wore out. Do you have any other solutions? This happens when you first turn it on & it isn't very old so I don't think it's overheating or wore out. Do you have any other solutions?
if the shredder is stopping due to the overheat switch, this is the only thing that causes this, sorry but the shredder no matter the age is damaged, how else do u account for the full page not being shredded?? regardless of age the shredder is damaged, the motor is overheating due to the damage and the overheat safety is being triggered, it just takes overloading it a few time to cause this damage, so age is not really a factor.if the shredder is stopping due to the overheat switch, this is the only thing that causes this, sorry but the shredder no matter the age is damaged, how else do u account for the full page not being shredded?? regardless of age the shredder is damaged, the motor is overheating due to the damage and the overheat safety is being triggered, it just takes overloading it a few time to cause this damage, so age is not really a factor.
