At the back of the printer, just before the paper comes out of the rear paper output area, is the fuser. It's easy to find if the printer has been recently on (and used) as it will be the hottest part of the printer.
So far I haven't had any luck in locating documentation for it (besides the rather simplistic user's guide).
I removed the fuser from my unit to install the new fuser that I had purchased. I discovered a tripped "thermal disc" on faulty fuser that could not be reset manually so I placed the fuser in my freezer and guess what - the thermal disc reset itself. Next time I will bypass the disassembly step, remove the toner cartridge and put the entire printer in the freezer for a few hours.I removed the fuser from my unit to install the new fuser that I had purchased.
