Opening battery compartment on Midland LXT80 2-way radios
I have a set of Midland LXT80 walkie-talkies. How do I get the battery compartment cover off to replace the batteries?? I've tried sliding it, squeezing it, pulling at it, all to no avail!

First take the clip off by pulling the tab while sliding it down. Then once the clip is off, push in and down on the top of the battery compartment and it should come off.

I just had the same question. I started to think that it had a rechargeable battery and that the battery compartment could not be opened. However, it does have a battery compartment holding 3 AAA batteries. Just push in and down very hard and it will slide/pop off.
Unscrew then push down and pull down on the battery compartment and this should do it.
