Optimus H-4438 Electric Heater
I have the H-4438 model but I am having the same malfunction as described in reference to the H-4436 model. It power's up then a few seconds later the alarm signal lights up. No heat is being generated but as described with the H-4436 model, the heater still rotates. Is there a reset button? In case either there is no reset button or resetting doesn't do the trick, what would be the next step in fixing this problem? Please help, it's very cold where I live.

On the back of the heater, remove the element connection cover ( 3 philips screws). A white wire from terminal goes into a white sleeve and turns in to red wire. Under this sleeve is a special fuse, TCO (Thermo Cutoff) that has that has blown.SEFUSE, SF110Y, 15a
I had the same problem. I tried the "remove the fuse" trick, and that did not work. There is a round heat sensor or thermostat at the top of the dish, located just above where the heating elements are. This is what went bad on mine. If you take the back of the heater off, the part with three screw holding it to the back of the dish, you will expose some wires. This is the same spot you do the "fuse trick". I found that if you connect the white wire you removed the fuse from to the set of red wires that are connected to each other by heat shrink tubing, you by-pass that thermometer/sensor. I did this by cutting the red wires apart(removing the heat shrink connection), reconnecting the red wires back together using a ring terminal, then connecting the new connection(ring terminal) to the post where the white wire is connected to. By doing this you will be by-passing a safety feature of the heater, so do this at your own risk. But now my heater works fine. Also a quick search to find a replacement sensor for this heater came up empty. hope this helps some of you.
kwilks3 I tried the fuse removal as well with no luck. Then I tried what kwilk3 suggested and it resolved the issue. Thanks.
Bought mine this past fall Sams. wire going through plastic burnt into where they squeeze it through. Nearly caught on fire. Took it apart broke connector on what looks like a balance switch. Soldered back put back together. Guess what. Doesn't work. help
