Optoma ep739 won't power up
Hello,
My optoma projector won't power up at all. I plug in the device and it doesn't go on stand by. It remains as if it was completely unplugged. Any ideas on what could have gone wrong?

The lamp cover has a disconnect that won't allow power while the cover is off. Sometimes the piece of metal gets bent out of place.
Try removing the cover for the lamp, and bending the little piece of metal forward.
It worked for me!!!!
:)
This requires almost complete disassembly of the projector.
Somewhat time consuming, but not hard.
If you are unable to fix the switch, take a jumper from a hard drive, "the one used to configure the drive for a master or slave", unplug the unit from its power source and any other cables connected to it. Disassemble the unit until you can remove the power supply and unplug the switch cable from the power supply.
Pull the complete connector housing, "the white plastic piece the cable plugs in to", off of the power supply board. Be careful with the 2 pins inside of the housing when you remove it, make sure you pull it straight away from the board.
Plug the hard drive jumper onto the 2 pins from which you removed the cable and connector housing. Re-assemble the unit and test it.
Works like a champ.
This is also a great opportunity to blow out the unit while you have it open. Be careful to not over spin the fans, it is better to hold the fans so they do not spin while blowing out with canned air. You can also use an air compressor to blow out, but do not use more than 15lbs. of air.
Good luck.
Mine did the same thing. It was a bad power supply. The +5vdc was loading down to 4 volts and below, under load. I replaced all the electrolytics for the DC voltages.
