Get TomTom Navigator, it gives you/installs all the maps (or the ones you bought) straight onto your device! You don't need a data connection or anything. AND it gives you FULL voice navigation, tells you when to turn, has points of interest, shows distance, speed AND even tells you your over the speed limit AND MORE! Save your money and just buy TomTom! A gps device costs like 100 dollars anyway, the program costs just about that 2, so you don't lose much. http://www.tomtom.com/
You can also try Odyssey Mobile Nav. Software http://www.infogation.com/
Google maps 'navigate' lacks alot of stuff, and personally I think its dangerous while driving, since its so small and you have to look at it to see where you are. The other 2 software i mention have voice so you don't even have to look at your phone..
Sorry about first post, I had multiple tabs open in firefox and was gonna reply to another post that said GPS wasn't working with navigation software, and somehow wasn't paying attention and though this one was that....lol

I suggest installing software such as Garmin Mobile XT for the device. It works flawlessy, really fast, aquires GPS really fast, and also has an address search, plenty Points of Interest, etc.
Hye! here's how you can take care of this issue: Dowload google maps from the web (for windows mobile) & install it on your diamond. In order to use GPS on this phone, your internet/gprs connection must be functional; without netwrok connectivity you cant use GPS on this device as it does not have the map interface on its chip (& cant be loaded later too). It just has a light GPS transceiver which in presence of a mapping software (such as google maps) can show your position on the globe & in some countires can also navigate you. After installing google maps, make sure your internet connectivity is on and then work with google maps 'USE GPS' & 'My location' or 'Navigate' functions ... enjoy!
