This is a new machine.  After placing 1/2 cup popcorn (which came right out of the freezer) into the chute and plugging in the machine, small chunks of butter were placed in the plastic cup on top.  Popcorn started shooting all over the counter and floor.  Any advise would be appreciated. Should I take the machine back?
