OS windows vista i get a window which says arcsoft connect daemon, not working or something like that. if i try to update it says its the updated version. is this a trial softwate possibly that just no longer works because if it is i would just remove it or is there some other solution to resolving this error message?

Have you tried going to Control Panel>Programs and Features and uninstalling the arcsoft program? If that doesn't work, do the following:
- Open the Start menu and go to Run... Or, if Run... is not available, skip it and go to the little bar you can type in at the bottom of the start menu
- Type "msconfig" (without the quotes)
- When the window pops up, go to the Startup tab
- Find the arcsoft entry and disable it.
- Reboot your computer. The msconfig window will open up again to be sure that your settings are the way you want them, you can just close it.
Start> Run> (type in) msconfig > Startup tab> uncheck the ArcSoft program> Restart
A program by the company ArcSoft is trying to start up when your computer. It's probably the old trial as you thought, and your welcome to remove it via add/remove programs.
