Our Garmin Nuvi 660 has been working fine since we got it new about 3 years ago. But about a week ago it stopped working and would hangup during power up, stopping with an indication that it was loading maps. We tried to interface it with a computer by the USB port and had the same indication. We also tried the reset button on the back and still the same indication. About 2 weeks before the problem, the unit gave an indication that the maps were out of date. But the unit continued to work normally after that (This may not have anything to do with the present problem??). Thank you for any help you can give. Jim

whether u use the unit with or without external power makes no diff, if the battery goes bad it will not operate even when hooked up to external power source, no matter the problem u will need to send the unit back to Garmin for repair, there is nothing u can service on it, once again please change the terrible rating u gave me.whether u use the unit with or without external power makes no diff, if the battery goes bad it will not operate even when hooked up to external power source, no matter the problem u will need to send the unit back to Garmin for repair, there is nothing u can service on it, once again please change the terrible rating u gave me.
