Sounds like the motor might be the problem. Motors have a thermal overload switch inside them to prevent them from bursting into flames. Once the reach a certain temperature they will shut down. After it cools down then it will come right back on. I would check the motor. is it making any weird noises? screeching..rubbing...clicking... might have a bearing going out or problems with the windings.
