Our Neptune top loader is out of balance on the spin cycle and stops after pounding and banging. After leveling the clothes and restarting, it adds time to the display and starts its banging and squeaking until it shuts off again. [email protected]
Hello martyschuck. I’m and owner not a repair person so my solution is a bit more detailed That 1st solution is dead on B. A. if the machine is a FAV6800A or FAV9800A .I like to provide a step by step process to repair for the DIY’er.It may seem like a lot but for the average DIY type it’s not so bad.If you call in repair company I think you are looking at $300 to $450 ball park to repair. If the One-Way Roller clutch bearings can be cleaned up the cost could be $0 if you have a can of WD-40 in the house. Take a look at my Clutch Fix post for a step by step process to maintenance the One-Way Roller clutches in the bearing assemblies or replace the Clutch Pulley if they can’t be cleaned up.This should get you back in service. That post is under my previous forum name dh1200s. I also describe how to test the One-Way Roller Clutches in the bearing assembly to give you some insight as to why the machine is going off balance banging the tub around and failing out with code dC or uC. You or someone you know can DIY the fix and add additional service life to your $1K machine. Post back if you have questions,,,,,Rich

The tumblers are probably turning during the spin. They should lock out during spin. The clutch has probably failed.
