Our phone system is a Lucent Avaya Partner 18D. We have had no voice mail programming for a couple of days. As far as I know, there has been no power outages in our area. The computers would let us know. I have a reset button and have used it a couple of times for the phone system. I have also unplugged the master phone. When I call our office number the voice mail never comes on. Also, I cannot transfer anyone to voice mail either. HELP!

Try this procedure to transfer a call your voice mailbox. Press FEATURE, 1 then 4. Dial the extension number and then hangup. Test if calls now is diverted to your voice mailbox.

Pressing intercom followed by 7 7 7 should enable you to listen all voice mail messages. If there were voice mail mesage before you should be able to retrieve them. If you were not able to hear them then there is serious hardware problem going on inside the unit. You might need to contact AVAYA regarding this issue.
