Our system went down today and is now back up and reprogrammed. before it went down our incoming ring was a single ring and the internal ring was a double ring. Now it is the opposite. Is there a way to chang it back? the tech that reprogrammed the phones did not know how to change them
It depends on the version software you have (FP2 or FP3). In FP2 Ring Scheme is supposed to be 2 by default which is single ring C.O. and double ring intercom. Scheme 0 is reversed, and 1 is both single ring. Scheme 1 is recommended with voice mail, probably because the VM gets confused on the double ring from intercom. It's programmed in Option 4 RESOURCES and it's the first choice in the database.
There is nothing in the manual on explanation of what the "4th" Ring Scheme is. My guess is it's distinctive ring, but it's just a guess. The Resources shows 0/1/2/3 but the explanation shows 0/1/2 only. My manual page explanation is on 176. The choices may be 1/2/3 or 1/2/3/4 so you'll have to play with the settings. I'm not able to fire up my DHS to check it at this time.
No, they're not the same. An STS does not have changeable cadence, inside calls are double ring and outside calls are either single ring or distinctive. Go look at the phone system cabinet and post the part number here. There are a couple versions of DHS, and STS and STS-E. Also a part number off the bottom of your phone.
