Our wall unit just quit working. we moved in four years ago so i'm not sure how old the unit is and don't have a manual. from my research, the product matches the Carrier XQB153D. We have never serviced it, changed filter (if need be) etc. Any recommendations?
Heating & Cooling - Carrier - XQB153D Air Conditioner
Would you be using this Air Conditioner, as Heat Pump-- and so, when you say it just stopped--- Is that meaning that it stopped supplying HEAT?
Or are you using for cooling purposes?
Thanks for telling us that yo have NOT serviced it in 4 years! You could pull the front cover off, and clean the filters-- Possibly a mouse or a bird or ?-- has built a nest in a wrong spot, and caused problems.
Give us some clues as to alarm lights, or sounds it used to make when you turned it on, versus what you hear now when you turn it on?-- any humming?-- clicking, etc.?
Tell us more, and we'll try to help to the next step.
It won't turn on to cool or heat but I will clean the filters and get back to you. Thanks so much!It won't turn on to cool or heat but I will clean the filters and get back to you. Thanks so much!
When you have the unit open, if you could measure voltage inside the unit, and trace the wall voltage thru the on-off switch, and any limit switches, etc.-- Let us know where the voltage stops.
