outdoor over-the-air antenna to the Ant 1(DTV) terminal on my Scott LCT37SHA so that I can get channels with an antenna and not using a converter box on this tv. We want to use it on another...If I hook it up through a HDTV converter box it works but I have to use the AV choice instead of DTV. I was able to get it to work a couple of times from the Ant1(DTV) terminal with an indoor amplified antenna
You just have to hook up the wire from the antenna to to the co-axial input at the back of the sett. I do not think it is a good idea though as the picture quality will be sub-standard(480i)
To hook up your antenna to two televisions, you need to connect your antenna to a converter box, then you connect both television to the converter box and you will be able to operate the channels from the main television channels and not the antenna.
If you use the HDTV converter box, it will only limit you to using the AV channel to see the programs on the antenna.
You can as well get an antenna booster, that way you can connect the antenna to the booster, and connect two televisions to the booster.
Thanks for your quick response. I will use that if I have to but I was hoping to connect the antenna directly to this tv which has the NTSC & ATSC inputs. Then use the Hd converter box on the other tv which is analog.. If you need more info let me know or maybe what i am asking is impossible. Thanks againThanks for your quick response. Hello,
you actually cannot connect the antenna through the ntsc and atsc input. They serve different purpose on the television.
It would be best connected through the booster method or the hd converter box.
That's the best bet for you to be able to connect your antenna to both tv.
I hope this solution is helpful to you.
Take care
