OUTER LENS POPPED OUT
Hello,
I had the same problem with regard to the lens being frozen with full new batteries and I noted the last post re the advice.
However,
I accidentally dropped the camera whilst the lens was out and frozen and the outer lens has popped out and is now unable to go back in and a beeping noise sounds when I turn it on (obviously telling me that there is a problem with the camera).
I have taken the outer covering off on the screen side thinking that I could get into it and gently move the lens back out but can't seem to get the front outer cover off. Any ideas? Unfortunately the guarentee has only just expired!!

Since you are out of warranty you have to repair it yourself or get a new one. If you can open it and take it all apart it's pretty simple just remember how things look on the inside. All lenses that retract are on a little motor and gears. This is what you have to check and unfortunately it's usually under everything else. If you can get there see if the gear housing is cracked, the gears are in place and not striped and meshing ok. I believe it is going to be the gears. It's not as hard to take a part as people make it seem.
