P0440, p1676 Evap purge solenoid problem please help!!
Hello i have a 98 century 3.1 i am working on, the problem is the computer cannot activate the evap purge solenoid on the intake, it has constant power with the Key on to the solenoid, if i try to command the solenoid open with my scanner it will not activate and usually after 2 or three attempts the computer will time out and i have to reenter, i am Not getting the ecm ground to activate the solenoid if i apply a ground with my power probe to the green/white wire it will activate, The pink wire has 12volts key on and when i plug the sensor in i get 12volts over to the green/white wire is this normal? the green white wire has continuity back to the ecm and looks ok? i think i have a bad computer driver but i am not positive , i have already replaced the evap purge solenoid thinking it was stuck it seems i have some sort of ground issue on the green/white wire because if i measure across the plug with the solenoid unplugged my meter reads 11.5 volts? battery voltage is 12.5 but the solenoid will not open unless i ground the green/white wire manually? if someone can provide a diagram of this circuit that would be very helpful otherwise i am thinking i have a bad computer driver -jeff Jjust so you know i can control the VENT solenoid with my scanner so i know that works ok
