Palm Centro PDA (Pink)
My wonderful PDA phone took a swim (clean water) for 2 seconds. I dryed the phone and almost everything is working. I removed the battery cover and pulled the battery to dry it. I didn't see any water in there. I then found a screwdriver to remove the 5 screws (all I could find) to open the phone. I used a hair dryer (warm) to try to dry the inside ASAP. Now the navigation/menu button works in the center and to the left and right, but doesn't navigate up or down. I have two keyboard keys that don't type always immediately ("m", "the period"). What can I do to fix the phone so it works as new? The battery appears to have lost some life as well. The phone still works, the screen is perfect, and was able to hotsync everything. Is there hope short of buying a new one?

You will probably have to open it back up an clean the contacts with a qtip (or tiny piece of sponge) and alchohol. Let dry overnight.
You can take the battery and the back off the device and place in completely submerged in a bag of white rice and leave it in there for 1 to 2 days this will help absorb the moisture, this should fix it if the water did not damage the circut boards if the water damaged the circut boards then the device is fried
