Paul Smart won't start or idle without help
My Smart will not start on its own without applying throttle. It also won't idle. It runs fine and as long as I keep the revs up there seems to be no change in the power. I checked a couple of other posts but my bike runs fine so I didn't think the problems were the same. I disconnected the battery on the advice of a friend but that didn't help. I also tried turning the key off and on multiple times but to no avail. The dealership I phoned says to bring it in but that would require a 2 day trip. They also feel it might be a vacuum problem. Anyone have any other suggestions?

Hi, Ive had a simmilar problem. It was solved by ZokiTec in Johannesburg. 011 402 4141. Replaced electronic components and now the paul smart start, idle and has no backfire when closing throttle - with open Zard pipe. Bike was under warrenty and all done with NO Cost.
Pikkie South Africa.
Most likely a vacuum leak. Make sure clamps are tight and all hoses are connected. Also there are holes in the intake boots that should be plugged with screws, sometimes mechanics remove them to set up the throttle butterflys, sometimes they fall out.
