HP said it was in warranty and I shipped it back for repair. Then they said there were two cables that were chaffed. They connect to the wireless board. They said it was due to incorrect maintenance or misuse. I have never touched or moved the cables prior to sending it in for repair. Then they said it would cost around $400+ US to repair. I told them to send it back.
A friend had the same blank screen issue with the same beeps. They said it was out of warranty and would cost 300 to repair. Later they said $400+. Neither of us have opted to have them repaired. There are many issues on the web that are similar. HP had an issue with these laptops and does not want to take ownership of these problems. I have always purchased HP printers and computers in the past but NO MORE.
Probably not worth a CA suit but it seems to be about how little support can they get by with.
