Pc shuts down during windows xp install
I have a new barebone system I put together myself. I am able to get into BIOS settings and everything is okay till I try to install my OS.
It will go as far as the first restart, then my pc shuts down and when I reboot, it starts windows installation all over. Everything is new and I have a good knowledge of pc hardware and installation. I have removed the RAM, one by one, rebooted and had the same problem. I have double checked all connectors and everything is installed correctly.

One bad/faulty lead can cause a computer with lots of problems
replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive
hope this helps
Hi!
Easy problem to solve my freind:)
Do like this, start the installation as you did before, when your pc restarts, get in to bios again and change the first boot from cd/dvd to the HDD. That will solve your instalation problem:)
Good luck to you
