Pci card doesint work
I bought a usb card off of ebay becasue the computer i have doesent have one in it... so i turned the computer off and plugged it in and turned it back on. the computer turns on but nothing hows up on the screen. i take the pci card back out and it works fine. the thing is i need this pci card becasue the computer does not have more than one plug for a mouse and keyboard! so im stuck using the mousekeys until i get the pci card working! please help!

What you want is a USB hub. That will allow you to connect more than two USB devices to your computer. There are two types, USB 2.0 and USB 1.1. USB 1.1 will work for most slow speed devices, USB 2.0 is better for cameras and hard disks that have the support. You should confirm which version of USB your computer has, but you should be OK getting a USB 4-port hub, plugging that into your computer, then plugging your keyboard and mouse into the hub and using the other port for the new peripheral that you wish to install. Old PCI cards are problematic because you need the correct drivers. You also need to make sure you plug them into the proper PCI port. It sounds like the device you got from e-bay might be bad, so you shouldn't continue to use it. If you post the make / model of your computer we might be able to suggest a new PCI card that will work if you still want to add more ports to your computer.
