Pen highlights everything. doesn't click items
When i try to use the pen, it highlights everything and won't "click" on things. it also really seems to slow down my computer. i used to use a wacom and didn't have any problems.

Go the the WACOM website and download (for free)

the software for your type of tablet. Just re-install it. A quick trip to the Wacom website, updated software and things are better than ever.
Change the nub you can change it by bitting the tip to get it out and them inserting a new one.
Sometimes reinstalling the drivers also works .
Check that sticky keys option is not activated on this computer, this can cause the same problem (pen highlighting everything).
Reinstall drivers.
