Pentair WhisperFlo Wiring Help
I just replaced the pump and motor with a Pentair WhisperFlo 1.5 hp pump. I took the three wires from my old motor and re-hooked them in the new motor.The only thing was their was a wire hooked to a terminal that one of the lead wires goes to. My old motor didn't have this. I just want to make sure I don't need to unhook it before running the motor. I know the motor can be used 110/220, I cant find any type of wiring diagram on the pump motor or in the instructions and its been a while since I replaced one.

If you just bought this then there will be a diagram on the motor nameplate and/or under the terminal cover where you connect the wires. Generally speaking, there are two wires inside the motor that change positions depending on 115 or 230 v connection. If one of the wires is on a post common to one of the line leads, that usually means you have the motor set for 115V. Is that the voltage you are supplying to the motor? If there is no diagram you can make out on the motor, post what brand motor and the motor model number for a diagram.
