Pentax ME Super Shutter and Rapid Wind Button won't release
Found my Dad's old Pentax ME Super camera in great shape, but the shutter and the rapid wind button seem to be stuck. Inside the camera, the inside mirror stays up and makes things dark looking through the viewfinder. Are these potential deadly problems?? Don't remember him having any problems with it. Help. Scratching my head!

Common fault due to perished rubber parts. Can be usually be repaired, but do not try to force the camera, that may cause damage which can not.

This cammera does not require batteries for the shutter to fire. It can be operated at three speeds with no battery.
These are 'B', 'X' (=1/125) and in auto mode it runs at 1/2000 with no battery fitted.
Must have batterys to work shutter. Put select off auto and the shutter will work equal to 1/60th sec. for flash setting. This is a very rugged fine camera,should last for many years if taken car of.
