I have never looked into the AOpen monitors before until now. It has some pretty high reviews by gamers. A few had a problem with a stuck pixel but only a few. As far as the internal components, most monitor manufacturers use the same components. You might find that both actually use a Samsung screen or both might use a LG screen. the manufacturers use what ever components are the cheapest at the time of production. The real key is in the engineering of the circuitry on the inside, as well as the production process. As far as internal components, most use the same capacitors and transistors on their boards which are the largest problem with why they go out after a few years. Just from what I read on some of the reviews and what I know of HP monitors, I would take a shot on the AOpen if you feel comfortable trying something new.
