Poor sound volume when playing classical music CD
I ripped (192 kbps) classical music CD to Dell Inspiron using Windows Media Player, then synchronized with 8 GB Sansa Fuze. When Sansa is docked to Altec Lansing ALTIM413, the sound volume is very poor even with volume selector on Lansing at maximum. Why?
The sound is excellent when listening to Sansa via headphone.
The ripped CD are from 1990's to 2007 , with the year making no difference. Is the Lansing defective? Can I modify the volume in any other way than using the + button?
This is a definitive negative for the Lansing audio.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Hello..
I read the problem you brought and I do not see any issue in the mode you ripped the cd-es...If the mp3 files you ripped work just file in the computer ...and they even sound ok in the mp4 player ..on the headphones...the issue must be the speaker dock... the only way to make any changes will be on the Sansa...look into the setings and see if it has something like and equalizer...or docked volume ...or anything that will increase the pre-amplified exit on the dock out...you can even try to make the connection with a cable between them (if the dock has a input slot ) ..to see maybe just the default conection is not pre-amplified enough...
about the volumes...probably both volumes are making a difference the one on the Sansa ...and the one on the Lansing ...
there is a possibility that the player to be defectiv on the conectivity in this way ..(docking ) ...and defective I mean that the signal is less that it should be ...
also look for any kinda volume related settings on the player...even on the equalizer you will have a signal volume ...(pre-amplifier ) ...this can be a way to increase it ..or if it has a separate volume on the player for docking ..
to be sure that both are ok ..and this is just the way they behave ..try to dock in another player to see if it behaves the same...borrow one from a friedn ..or take the dock to a seller to make a trial...
Have a nice day ..!
BTW ..to eliminate any suspicion about the ripped files...look for an mp3 file that works wonderful in the pc...and you know that it has to have volume ...and try it ...if it the same ..it means that it is something wrong with the preamplifier into the dock ....and needs a professional hand ..to fix...
