Port in front for oil and the back is for gas and mixture
I own a homelite chain saw I just brought powerstroke 23a it has two port holes the one in front that is were the chain oil go right. The one in the back is for gas and 2 stroke mix I belive I put The 2 cycle oil in the front it cranks but the chain is not moving fast threw rotation I pour the oil out but it smoke bad is that just the oil burning off. I think you are saying you put oil/fuel mix in the oil tank and bar oil in the fuel tank; discovered your mistake drained both tanks and refilled with the correct fluids. Now the saw runs but smokes excessively. I think it will do no lasting harm. After you have run a few tanks of the correct mix (50:1) through the saw. Remove and clean the muffler and spark arrestor, reinstall them. Inspect your plug if any evidence of fouling replace it. I think you will be cutting with this saw for years.
Yes the additional smoke is caused by a very oil rich mixture and should abate with each fresh tank of fuel. If the chain is not moving ensure the chain brake is not engaged.
