Portable heater blowing smoke on start up
Dayton 170 k b.t.u. oil fired heater blowing black smoke on start up. not so bad the first time it starts up but there after it blows a large plum of smoke.please any helpout there?

Sounds like it is not burning all the fuel . If you have the manual it should tell you how to adjust air flow so it will burn wright. You might need to clean the nozzle that the oil comes out of. The manual will have the cleaning steps to if you have manual. If not i can try an find one for you.
