Possible Control Port Issue for 2600
So I hook up my 4 switch Woody 2600 and am playing Pac Man...I can turn left, right, and down but not up...I tried 4 different joysticks...all the same...I tried a different game...still no up...then I got my 2600 Junior and low and behold I can move all directions...I'm thinking there's some kind of messed up situation with my control port...is this a common problem? Can it ever be fixed? Thanks for the help!

I have an atari 2600 jr that has a similar problem- the button doesn't work. i found out that one of the pins in the controller port was broken off so this is a possibility
Superdrafan:
you sound like you have a conection problem within you atari
open the Atari up and look to see if there are any dry solder joints from the joystick ports
just dabbing the point with a solder iron shold freshen up the connection
The Gameboy: you sound like you have dirt in your joystick
open it up and clean the connections with a cloth and spirts
