Radio worked before I replaced the button but now it doesn't, with either the new button or the old one. Button appears to be attached correctly but it doesn't do anything.

Did you disconnect the radio to fit the button. if so you will need the radio code.
the button is a press on button the by pressing it on, you switch of the power . press again and the power comes on .turning the button gives volume
No, I just removed the old button and replaced it with a new button. The button "works" in that it depresses and turns for the volume control, but when pressing the button, the radio doesn't turn on. The button assembly just pulls off and pops back on according to the dealership. I did that and that's when the power/volume button or knob didn't work.
