Power steering box that will interchange with 1965 Rambler V-8
Need to know what other power steering box will interchange with a 1965 Rambler Classic V-8. What other makes of cars used the type of steering box used by Rambler. The unit is Saginaw, I think.

AMC/Rambler IS NOT a "mixture" of parts. They made most of their own parts, but did buy a few from other suppliers -- usually custom made to fit only AMC, but not always. They didn't reinvent the wheel if they - could buy cheaper than they could make their own they did. Simple economics! 80% or more of the cars are all AMC/Rambler though.
AMC/Rambler steering boxes from 1965 on are Saginaw, which is owned by GM. The steering shaft sizes changed in the 80s or late 70s, so you may have to buy a conversions "rag" joint or modify an existing one with the shaft end of the Rambler column and the box end of the replacement. See http://www.superchevy.com/how-to/49838-bolt-on-late-model-steering/. That is for a Chevy, but the conversion is the same. Rambler also used Saginaw steering columns from 65 on. They didn't reinvent the wheel if they - could buy cheaper than they could make their own they did.
Ramblers were a mixture of the" big three" back in the '60s you might see if a steering box from a dodge ram series pickups or ford f series pickups may fit. also, check closely on the steering box for a casting number, parts suppliers use these numbers as a cross reference to match other steering boxes to your application.
