Try pulling the AC plug overnight. All modern sets have some complex components that can 'lock up' and letting them do without voltage can sometimes cure that. All modern sets do not completely power off unless the AC is taken away since they need to be somewhat 'alive' so that remotes can be recognized.
If that hasn't helped, or the set comes on briefly then dies again, it is likely that the main power supply has failed and will need either repair or replacement.
Either the power switch on the remote or on the TV do not work? Any indicator light on the front at all? If all of the above are true, then you will have to open it up and inspect the power supply main AC fuse, caps, connectors, etc.
