This is not usually a big deal. If you plug your monitor, computer, and all your powered peripherals into a power strip, you can just press the button on the power strip to safely power off all of them when you are finished using them.
Believe it or not, those devices still draw power when you turn them off. Disconnecting them with a power strip, breaks the electrical connection and saves energy, too.
