Powermax 2" water pump vs Honda 2" water pump
I am irrigating an orchard using water from a drainage ditch. I want a good reliable pump. I can purchase a Powermax XP652wp water pump for $240 or a Honda WB20X for $384. Both are 2" pumps and will do the job. I assume that Honda is more reliable but is it worth the $144 difference? I have never heard of Powermax pumps and I don't know anything about them.
Thanks,
Leon

You need to look at the engine
Cheaper units use a Briggs & Stratton unit which is noisy and tends to wear
Honda uses their own and normally runs sweeter and longer without any drama.
Check for oil consumption on both units again the Honda seems to fare better
One drawback is that the Honda unit is more of an attraction to thieves so if it is left unattended it may take a walk
