Pressing the accelerator to resume speed after coasting, results in a "Bump" sound almost like a slipping U-joint, Chrysler shop says transmission needs replacement
When coasting downhill, upon reaching level area pressing the accelerator results in a "bump" sound, as if the transmission slips some before coming into gear. What causes this?

Slack in the ring and pinion gears, a bearing going bad. Transmissions can be rebuilt. Not necessary to replace it.
