Remove the two self tapping cross head screws securing the bulb assembly, there is two pipes on the back of the primer, one connects to a short nozzel on the primer and the other too a long nozzel on the primer, the long nozel is pressure so this connects to the pipe that returns to the fuel tank, the short nozzel connects the pipe to the metering side of the carb, if you just remember that the primer pulls fuel from the carb, into the bulb, and back into the tank, not the other way round, it is not actually a primer it is a purge, so it does not matter how many times you press it you will not flood the carb.
The return line from my primer bulb (purge) to the fuel tank broke. When (and if) I get the return line into the tiny gas tank hole how far in would you recommend? While at it, is there a trick to getting the line into the hole? Thanks. The return line from my primer bulb (purge) to the fuel tank broke. The return hose only needs to fit into the tank 30mm, to fit the new hose, take a pair of scissors, cut the pipe up the middle approx 30/40mm and remove one half, it will now easilt push into the top of the tank, remove the filler cap and use a pair of long nose pliers through the filler hole to pull the pipe through, once fully through, trim the end and re fit the fuel filter.
