Progressive Scan; Model CH-DVD 300. I just purchased a HDTV and the DVD player would play in black and white only and there was no sound. I purchased a Component Cable to replace the Composite Cable that came with the DVD. At the suggestion of the sales clerk who sold me the Component Cable, I am using the old audio cable and the sound is now working. However, instead of a disk playing in just black and white, it now plays in bright pink only. I can't find anything in the manual which addresses this problem. What is the solution?

Make sure that the color, red blue and green is perfectly matched to the devices. If that isn't the problem, try another component input.. How old is the TV?
The vcr is on a separate output than the tv input so lets not worry with that. First thing that we want to determine is that we are actually able to determine is if the component input on the TV is defective. You should have more than one component input on the back of your tv. Look behind the tv and take note of the input that the dvd is plugged into. Locate another input that accepts the RED GREEN BLUE and don't forget to move the audio as well. Test it and let me know. You can change the input on your remote control indicated by "input" or "source" depending on the manufacturerThe vcr is on a separate output than the tv input so lets not worry with that. Sorry, the picture shown shows a dvd/vcr combo. Let's restart.
