Protect usually means a speaker wire problem. remove all connections and redo them making nice tight twists in the connections the spliced end should be no more than 1/4 inch long. make sure to do this for all speakers as well as on the back of the unit.
did you try my last diagnosis by removing all wires from back of unit? and then see if it still happens? if i helped fix it how bout a fix ya....thanks and good luck any other questions try [email protected] it is easier
so what is the verdict? if it works ok when all speaker wires disconnected and doesnt go to protect (turning volume up) you can then attach one speaker at a time and see which one gives you the protect mode. there could be a malfunction in one speaker. or like i said earlier that if it still goes to protect with all wires off then it is internal and something more major is wrong.
