Protection light stays on even when everything is disconnected.the output transistors are turning red hot instantly and it has a 20 amp draw on it.while it is hooked up to a power supply with no sound imput at all

Your output transistors (some of them) have shorted and this amp needs bench servicing. Or get the schematic and troubleshoot and repair bad components yourself.
There is a short somewhere one your board that is putting all the load on your output transistors follow the traces on the board both ways to find the short
