PSC 6000 Plus not scanning
We have Datalogic QuickScan 6000 Plus scanners attached to PSC Powerwedge 20 Dual FD-000-22. We recently had to replace one of the scanners, but it's not reading any barcodes. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the original setup, so I do not know if there was any programming involved. Is there a test mode or reset that will let me know if the scanner is working? Thanks.

There are a few questions:
What kind of cable do you use?
USB, SERIAL, PS2
What kind of computer?
Normal computer or Laptop?
Then...
When you recieve the scanner like new you always have to program it.
First you do
Reset to factory defaults.... Never do this with working scanners
then
you have to program it.
First the Connection type
and then if needed a computer type.
After that you usually have to scan a suffix.
This means when you scan a barcode it needs to do something after.
normally it doesn't give Enter after you scan.
That is what the suffix is for.
and then you scan additional symbologies to scan
Like Code 39, UPC A etc. etc.
It needs to be programmed with the manual you recieved.
if you don't have it you can download here.
Ah is see.
So the scanner is connected to the extra port on the scale by RS232 or a serial connection.
The toledo scale is connected to the pc with ps2.
In this case you have to program the scanner by cable type rs232.
usually it's
baudrate 9600
no parity
1 bit parity.
First i would go to this manual.
sorry when i said 1 bit parity. i meant 1 Stop bit not 1 bit parity
