Pump started making whining noise - I took it out of the water and ran it for a few seconds - makes a grinding noise. Can I take off the impeller assy and clean it? It is an Aquascape SFA3000, in use about 2 years

Called my installer who recommended replacing it with the Aquasurge model. Keeping my fingers crossed this one lasts.
