Purchased in Nov 08 new. Machine locked up, pushed reverse leaver and it then rotated freely but broke needle by striking the feed dog. Appears to have lost sinc with feed dog and possibly roatating hook. Machine is also equiped with a variable speed servo electronic motor, which I have never liked as well as the old clutch motors
You have probably inadvertantly lowered the feed dogs. Find the lever for this machine and turn it to re engage the feed dogs....
It is possible that it has a mechanism to drop the feed dogs for darning? Many sewing machines have a mechanism (a dial or switch of some sort) which allows you to drop the feed dogs so that you can do darning. When the mechanism has beeen activated the feed dogs drop down and will still move. Have a look in your manual and see if there is a section on darning and see if it mentions such a mechanism.
Also clean out between the feed dogs. If that does not help, there is a screw with a jam nut accessible from the under side to adjust the feed dog height.
