Put power steering fluid in my honda and it "gulped" every last bit of it and blew the cap in a matter of 1 minute. it was wrecked back in june and it still needs a front end alignment but i dont think thats gonna fix my problem. i dont know much about cars and we cant seem to find a visible leak anywhere. there was also smoke coming from the hood in the back closest to the windshield. smelt like burnt power steering fluid
Even a new hose will probably give you sticker shock. 1 hour +, labor cost. You may have to pull things away to find the leak. Use rags, wipe everything down, and look for leak source. Good luck.. If it is a hose, might try a salvage yard for a replacement.Even a new hose will probably give you sticker shock. 1 hour +, labor cost. You may have to pull things away to find the leak. thanks. the power steering gets easier as i drive it but only have driven it twice since the wreck to take it to and from repairs. hopefully it is a hose and not the whole rack or pump. maybe ill get a good eye later and find the leak myself. thanks again for the advice.thanks. the power steering gets easier as i drive it but only have driven it twice since the wreck to take it to and from repairs. hopefully it is a hose and not the whole rack or pump. maybe ill get a good eye later and find the leak myself. thanks again for the advice.

Probably leaking there and hitting your hot exhaust.
